Note: The following statements are intended to help shape your position on the use of AI in the classroom. While none of the items below have been voted on by the Generative AI Committee, they have been used by various faculty members in their course syllabi.

You will be informed when, where, and how AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini are permitted to be used in the classroom and on assignments – along with guidance for attribution. Any use outside of this permission constitutes a violation of CUNY’s Academic Integrity Policy (1.1).
